Scholars Excitement for Cup Final

by Jun 11, 2021

Lowestoft Town FC Scholars booked their place in the final of the Waveney F.C. Adults Friendly Tournament. It has been great for the scholars to get back onto the pitch playing adult football with some competitive games after the cancellation of their college league. After competing in the group stages winning all three games the boys made it through to the semi-final after defeating organisers Waveney. In the semi finals Lowestoft were up against Southwold, winning on a penalty shoot-out! Everyone is really looking forward to the final this weekend against Mutford and Wrentham at Barnards Meadow. Good luck Lowestoft!

A massive thanks to all teams and organisers Waveney FC.

“This year we competed in the FA youth cup after a tough battle we unfortunately lost 3-2 to Dereham this was a great opportunity to represent the club in this iconic tournament. Our u19’s play midweek fixtures in the alliance league, where we can test ourselves against some of the best teams around. However unfortunately we never got to finish the season due to COVID-19, but it helped me develop as a player. Personally, I have been fortunate enough to be involved with the first team during my time at the college. I made my debut in a friendly against Gorleston where I played 90 minutes and since I have training regularly with them as well as being in many match day squads. The senior cup has been a great opportunity for the boys to experience men’s football and after some great performances and a penalty shoot out win, we have made it to the finals. As a team we look forward to this and hope to end the year with a trophy.”

“I really enjoyed in the youth alliance league and the senior cup competition, I’m really looking forward to the final. It has really helped the development of myself as a player as the standard was good in every game. It was a different experience for me playing adult football, but I enjoyed the step up and would like to get involved more football of that standard.”
