We are delighted to announce that three of our second year Sheffield scholars have secured U.S Scholarships which will see them fly out to America to study at the Patrick Henry Community College in Virginia and play for the ‘Patriots’.
As one of the exciting progression routes through our partner U.S Sports Scholarships , scholars Charlie Spick, Tom Berry and Harry Middleton will embark on the next stage of their development in August, after completion of their Level 3 Extended Diplomas in Sport & Exercise Science with the Football Industry College at St Georges Park Graves.
With the limited opportunities of showcase games due to recent lockdowns Charlie, Tom and Harry have made the most of the limited playing time, creating highlight videos that have caught the eye of the Patrick Henry ‘Patriots’ Coaching Team.
“The tutors, staff and everyone at the St Georges Park Graves hub are proud to see the lads be awarded Scholarships to America in what will be a unique life changing experience for them. The opportunity to potentially get a first class degree at the fraction of the cost of attending university in the UK, while developing as a player at some of the best universities in the world is proving increasingly popular for young student athletes. Combining this with the disruption of lockdowns limiting the opportunities to host trial games to showcase their talent, and their dedication to remote learning, has made this an even greater achievement from all three of them.”Rich Clark – Assistant Director of Education – Football Industry College
Charlie, Tom and Harry are the latest in a line of Football Industry College Scholars to secure U.S Scholarships deals for the fall of 2021, following the success of Lowestoft Town FC Scholars Buster Honeywood, Ant Cox and Brad Revel who will be heading off to join NAIA powerhouses Bellevue University and Rocky Mountain respectively.
Should anyone aged fifteen to nineteen years of age in the Sheffield area be interested in finding out more about U.S Scholarships then we are hosting our next trial and information event on Friday 4th June.
