by May 7, 2022

Congratulations to Sheffield scholars Guy Harrison, Louis Romain, Max Wilkinson and Oliver Newton who starred for Abbey Lane F.C, in winning the Sheffield & District U18 Trophy.

The four scholars who currently study with our Sheffield football education programme at the fantastic LU Graves football hub played an integral part of Abbey Lanes F.C U18 fantastic cup run, ending with a victorious penalty shoot out after an epic three all draw against Bolsover Town.

Sheffield scholars Guy, Louis, Max and Oliver with the Sheffield & District U18 Trophy

The four Football Industry College Scholars were present throughout the cup run for Abbey Lane U18’s with Max Wilkinson contributing vital goals in every round including the final.

As part of our Sheffield Football Education Programme, the scholars also compete in the Sheffield & South Hallamshire FA College League and receive up to nine hours per week player development through our UEFA qualified coach Jake.

We love to follow the journeys of our scholars on the pitch, outside of the college football education programme we run. Since they joined the programme, Guy, Louis, Max and Oliver have always shown a dedication to learn and develop as players, and it is great to see them lift the U18 Sheffield & District U18 Trophy with Abbey Lane F.C who are a fantastic grassroots club and deserve this success. As a coach, developing players to their best potential while on the programme is my main focus regardless of ability. It’s great to see the hard work they put into every session at the Football Industry College can transition to their grassroots or local teams.
