Recent Football Industry College graduates looking to progress onto University have been celebrating, after all achieving the required grades for their Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports & Exercise Science to progress onto higher education with their first choice universities and degrees.
Scholars from across our national programmes will now prepare to start their higher education in September having identified their pathways and future career progression as part of the Football Industry College education programme.
The versatile Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports & Exercise Science which is the equivalent to three A levels and nationally acknowledged by universities, enabled scholars to explore a wide range of units that are supported with enriched learning opportunities and industry experiences, to pin point the potential future careers they wish to achieve.
Special mention must go to our St Georges Park Graves, Sheffield Scholars, who have stood out from our national programmes with over 75% graduates deciding that higher education is the next step in their future development.
These scholars are now preparing to start their three year degree courses at renowned sports universities including Sheffield Hallam, Leeds Trinity University and Manchester Metropolitan studying a range of BSc (Hons) and BA (Hons) degrees such as Sports Coaching, Physical Education & School Sport, Sports Development, Sport & Exercise Science, Manchester City Community Football Coaching and Business & Marketing.
“Our scholars have really raised their game over the past twelve months to ensure they stayed focused and on course to achieve their targeted grades through the disruption of national lockdowns and remote learning. Despite these interruptions our learners have shown resilience and an excellent work ethic, which has resulted in a 100% success rate for all our learners looking to progress onto university achieving the grades required to be accepted on their first choice conditional offers. I am not only proud of the achievements delivered by our scholars nationally but with lockdowns resulting in university tours being cancelled and replaced with virtual tours, our tutors have gone above and beyond to deliver online talks and workshops with relevant universities to help scholars decide which university and course was right for them, offering support within the application process. This has been an incredible achievement for these learners and is testament to the effort they have put in over the past two years. I cannot wait to follow their journeys into higher education and what I am sure are promising future careers.”Rich Clarke – Assistant Director – Football Industry College
