Ninety two percent of second year scholars secure first choice university offers

by May 7, 2022

As we approach the end of another academic year, we are delighted to announce over ninety percent of scholars who have applied for higher education placement have secured their first-choice conditional offers as they continue their education and pursue their career aspirations within the football, sport, and leisure industries.

After two years of studying towards a Level 3 Extended Diploma in either Sports Science or Working in Sport, Scholars from across our national programmes are preparing their final units of work, which will secure the required grades to meet their conditional offers and enable them to study towards their chosen degree.

Max, Louis, Oliver and Dillon are just four of sixteen Sheffield scholars to apply for university.

I am so proud of the scholars seeking to progress onto higher education at the Football Industry College. The level of work across the nineteen units of their extended diplomas has been of a high standard and each an everyone of them fully deserves their conditional offers. As always it will be sad to see scholars leave the course, but great to continue to follow their journeys onto higher education and their future careers.

Our soon to be Alumni of 2022 have secured placements at a range of top sport universities including the University Campus of Football Business (Wembley & Etihad Manchester), Sheffield Hallam, Wolverhampton, Northumbria, Derby, and the University of Suffolk.

And providing they achieve the match winning grades expected, from September 2022 they will embark on their chosen degrees which includes sports science, sports coaching, performance analysis, sports media, football journalism, sports business, broadcasting, marketing, and professional policing.

Throughout their time with the Football Industry College, Scholars have been provided with pathway enrichment experiences such as university trips, tours, and guest speakers to support them in understanding if higher education is the right destination for them and their career goals. Tutors also deliver a range of curricular workshops and one-to-one sessions supporting with every stage of the UCAS application process from choosing the right course, university to that crucial personal statement.

It really is great to see so many scholars securing their conditional offers onto university once again. The extended diplomas, practical learning and enrichment experiences the scholars get here, really stands them in good stead for the transition onto higher education. As a tutor, I am proud of the work ethic and positive environment they create as a team and support they provide for one another. I look forward to following their future careers in what I am sure will be future successes.”
